From Classroom to Home

Parents please look for the 'Family Times' Handout each week in your child's folder. Use this as a review with your child each night as it indicates by Day 1 through Day 5.

If you would please initial the Family Times and/or the Math Home Links sheets to indicate that you did review with your child and return to me on Mondays your child will receive a sticker towards their charms for their effort and practice.

If you have Kindergarten writing paper have your child practice writing their name and perhaps the words of the week on the correct lines.

Our day at school seems to pass quickly and it is hard to get everything in so the home connection is important. The students love the center time in the classroom when they have creative play time for socialization, fine motor and gross motor development, role play and more.

You will also find newsletters from Title One and other programs and teachers at times.

Please email me or send a note if you have questions or concerns @ tlcarr@k12.wv.us.

Meet the Teacher

Thelma Carr

Let me begin by expressing how happy I am to be the 'New' Kindergarten Teacher at New Creek Primary and the fact that I have ten students that I look forward to seeing every day. Although I may be the 'New' teacher at New Creek I am not new to education. I have worked as a teacher, trainer, coordinator and mentor in education for over twenty four years. West Virginia has always been home to me, from growing up in the Southern Coal Fields of Boone County, undergraduate work at WVU Tech and WVSU, and graduate work at WVU, University of Phoenix and SIU. In addition to my career I am the mother of two grown sons and the grandmother of one and a half. At one point in my life the two roles combined when I had both of my sons in my 5th grade classroom and then then again as their computer teacher in middle school. If you would like to know more about my you can view my LinkedIn page. As policy of both education and myself I do not connect with current parents or students through any form of social media.
